Top 2020 Locations

Suzi Davis Monday 14th December 2020

As we head towards the end of a truly unique year, it’s time for mistletoe, tinsel and festive bakes. It’s also when we take a moment to reminisce, ruminate and reveal which Light Locations proved the biggest hits of the year.

All of our top five locations have come through the challenges this year has thrown their way. Calmly riding the storm and embracing the changing landscape of location photography, they deserve the popularity they have gained. With many of them already in demand for 2021, the future is looking reassuringly optimistic.

no 1: Mount Pleasant Road

This beautiful house in Kensal Rise has been with us for many years. The owner is a well-known interior photographer, who has an extraordinary approach to style that offers ceaseless appeal. An extensive internal update early in 2020 brought with it a fabulous open plan cooking, living and dining space that people love. These changes have brought even more versatility to this exquisite property.

no 2: Cotswold Barn

This converted barn is simply stunning. Stylish and sublime, it has always engaged clients with its sophisticated allure. Consistently popular, 2020 saw its appeal increase as crews were drawn to countryside locations with extensive social distancing opportunities. Clients have been able to set up COVID secure areas both inside and out, taking advantage of all this seductive location has to offer. The owner is currently making a few changes that will bring even more versatility to this wonderful location for 2021.

no 3: Forest House

Forest House is an incredibly special location and a property that has justifiably been in the top five for several years in a row. Set within the forest, its striking wood-clad exterior blends and moulds into its surroundings. Exclusive to Light Locations, this stunning property is a firm client and team favourite.

no 4: Church Road

This elegant vicarage in Buckinghamshire only joined us in February, but it was popular from the start. Grand proportions, period features and an amazing kitchen have drawn in a steady stream of clients. A wonderful owner who knows and understands the business has helped to ensure this location works with, and for, shoot crews. Church Road also offers a separate coach house, which together with extensive grounds, provide abundant social distancing options. This undoubtedly added to its appeal as the industry reopened after lockdown.

no 5: Hungerford House

Since October 2018 when we began working with Hungerford House, its beautifully proportioned rooms have resulted in its ongoing popularity. Period features married with modern twists offer shoot crews plenty of styling choices. They also appreciate the lovely props and gorgeous furniture that the owner thoughtfully provides.

As with the majority of our top five 2020 locations, this beautiful Victorian house is set in a quiet and secluded countryside location. Whilst the privacy this offers always holds appeal, this year it has proven to offer the additional needs of social distance adherence.

Sadly for us, this property has just been sold, so January 2021 will see it released from our portfolio.
