Inspiration for Children’s Bedrooms

Several of our Light Locations boast charming children’s bedrooms. Used by a range of furniture and homeware brands to showcase their products, these beautiful spaces would be on the wish list of many a child’s bedroom makeover.

We’d like to share our favourite Light Location kid’s rooms, together with a selection of original, delightful and inspiring children’s spaces we’ve collected over the years.

Designs to feed a child’s mind

Sometimes a quirky design, a creative piece of art or a clever design will create something to wow a child’s mind. We love it when we see a children’s room that will feed their sense of adventure and make them grin with delight.

A few of our favourite designs include:

• The tree den made by Design By Timber. This high play space, made from Douglas Fir makes a fun, playful safety shield. It gives access to enjoy a previously unused space, feeds their imagination and inspires them to explore the wonder of trees.
• The two globally inspired wall designs at Huron Road. Maps and mountains will guide young brains to enquire about the world at large.

A pretty space to retreat

Children’s bedrooms should be a retreat to play in or to wind down at the end of a busy day. The use of nature-inspired wallpaper in the 2 pretty bedrooms at the new Light Location The Rectory means a warm and welcoming space that wraps them in comfort and joy.

Giving your kids room to grow

Decorating a kid’s room doesn’t have to mean leaning on a heavily child-like interior design. Instead, a design that works with the rest of the house will easily evolve as your child moves through their childhood years.

A few of our favourite designs that will easily grow with your child include:

• The calm and neutral panel-walled bedroom at Forest House  which follows the beautiful design that flows through the entire house.  As a result, this room will seamlessly develop alongside your child over the years.
• The light and pretty room at Hayes House which is packed with original features. As a result the room will easily adapt as teddies and toys are replaced with teenage technology.
