Farewell Hungerford House

Suzi Davis Tuesday 26th January 2021

We are excited about 2021. Yes, we know the news around us can be worrying, but we are starting the year with a positive mindset. Shoots are still able to take place, the team is well and working more than effectively from home, and we have plenty to look forward to. We have vowed to stay upbeat; however, there is a tinge of sadness, as we say goodbye to another of our favourite Light Locations. A new chapter for the owners as they move to pastures new, and the close of a wonderful chapter at Light Locations.

An Ideal Shoot Location

Every one of the Light Locations team has adored Hungerford House. This gorgeous Victorian property set in the glorious countryside of West Berkshire is breathtaking. Packed with period features, set within generously proportioned rooms and finished with the talented owner’s styling and design, every inch of the house is heavenly. A much-loved aspect of the property was the stunning open plan kitchen and living space.

A perfect example of an ideal shoot location, clients have relished working at Hungerford House. The owner’s flexibility enhanced a versatile, private and beautiful property. Allowing painting and decorating ensured its popularity with paint, fabric and wallcoverings brands. Prestigious Textiles were among the most recent clients to utilise this property’s flexibility to showcase their beautiful fabrics.

Shoots lasting more than a day were also a regular occurrence. The setting meant it was perfect for longer and more intrusive interior jobs which involve time-consuming set-building. Many clients travelling from London or further afield would enjoy the local accommodation in this picturesque corner of England.

In 2020, Hungerford House shone as a location, due to its quiet and secluded location. Appealing to the increased needs for social distancing and privacy, it was in regular demand. As the shoot location awoke from lockdown 1, it shared the hot property title for both August and October. Unsurprisingly, this propelled it to a well-deserved seat in the top 5 Light Locations of 2020 and by the end of 2020, it was the most popular location of the year!

Farewell But Not Goodbye

We have been lucky to be able to offer the location to our clients for just over two years, during which time its popularity has been enduring. Whilst we are unfortunate to be losing Hungerford House, we will not lose touch with Simone. She is now channelling her visionary approach to style into her fantastic new business Grace Sisters. A store for design lovers looking for ethical, original and beautiful lifestyle products, we never tire of perusing what Grace Sisters have to offer. Farewell Hungerford House, but definitely not goodbye Simone.
