Upper Barn in East Essex was our hot property for February. Clients very quickly fell in love with this simple and rustic 17th century barn that only joined us as a Light Location in December 2019.
Upper Barn is home to paint connoisseur Cassandra Ellis, founder of Atelier Ellis paints, her husband and 2 adorable dogs. Cassandra has coated each room in the deeply pigmented and hard-wearing Ellis paint, with its characteristic quiet and painterly tones. The result is a gift to the senses as you wonder from room to room.
The beauty of this location is it’s rustic simplicity – everything around has been considered and is minimal in style which is great for shoots saving clients time moving things which allows them to set their shots up more efficiently! The house offers a lovely dining space with rustic, wooden sliding doors and a very pretty open staircase and balcony, a lovely period living room painted in a smoky green colour, kitchen/dining room painted in a soft white paint, three bedrooms all painted in different tones and a bathroom with a stunning freestanding bath.
The house provides a handsome ready-made backdrop for any interior shoot which is undoubtedly why it took the spot for our most sought after property in February.
