Looking back on 2019!

Sophie Hitchens Thursday 20th February 2020

2020 is now in full swing and before it becomes too late we wanted to take a quick look back on 2019. We had a very busy year in the office and many of our lovely owners and locations also experienced a wonderful year and we’ve picked out the 5 most popular shoot locations for whom 2019 was a year to remember.

NO 1: SHOREHAM BEACH HOUSE

Shoreham Beach House was a new location for 2019 and it won its place in the heart of many of our clients. Situated directly on Shoreham beach between Brighton and Worthing it offers a unique combination of space, style and a setting to die for. It’s a standout location worth travelling beyond the hustle and bustle of city life for.

A stunning interior awash with concrete and earthy tones reflects its beach backdrop to create a matchless ambience that has proved popular with clients such as Next, Dunelm, Carpetright, Heals and many more!

NO 2: FOREST HOUSE

No surprise here! Forest House is one of those versatile and striking locations that everyone adores. So much so that it has been in our top 5 for several years in a row.

Located in a fairy-tale setting deep in the middle of a forest, it was brought back to life after 40 years of slow decline by the artistic duo of photographer Emma Lee and her husband Daniel. Being their second home means that clients have a huge amount of freedom when using this amazingly versatile location. Simple yet stunning, this wood-clad gem has been a 2019 favourite amongst many clients including Country Homes & Interiors Magazine, The National Trust, Loaf and British design innovators Neptune.

NO 3: BATTERSEA HOUSE

Battersea House is an impressive Victorian gem full of unpretentious elegance. The simplicity of its clean lines and the almost monochrome palette has made it particularly popular with the letterbox flower company Bloom & Wild.  Throughout 2019 many of their photoshoots have utilised Battersea House to showcase their stunning floral displays.

NO 4:  HENLEY HOUSE

Henley House was another new location for 2019 and it is amazing! This new build barn near Henley on Thames is absolutely packed with unique features that are proving a hit with our clients. Notable features include exposed beams, a huge open plan kitchen with a curved bare brick wall, dining room and adjoining lounge with an impressive sliding barn door. Everything about this house is large and we love it.

NO 5:  EAGLE HOUSE

Georgian masterpiece Eagle House is another regular in our top 5 locations as it is simply beautiful. With Light Locations for 4 years now, it offers clients large proportions, grandeur and a friendly owner that makes shoots a real joy for our clients.

2019 saw Eagle House in demand in particular for Christmas shoots with Garden Trading and The White Company making use of its style and elegance. Cole and Son also utilised its expanse of walls to showcase its stunning wallpapers.

So that’s a wrap for 2019. We have had a great start to 2020 and had 6 new properties already added to our portfolio so let’s see if any of these hit our top 5 this year! Another exciting chapter for the Light Locations team, our location owners and our wonderful clients.
