Sophie Allsopp is an interior designer and owner of Sophie & Boo Interiors, creating simple, timeless interiors for luxury holiday homes.
Sophie had been looking for a property in North Norfolk where she could combine a perfect home with a workspace for her design business. As soon as she saw Vine Cottage, she had the vision to transform what had originally been a row of farmworker’s cottages, stripped of character in the 1970s, into exactly what she needed.
The transformation used Sophie’s background in property development and design expertise to bring back elements of original detail interwoven with her signature contemporary interior style. And because she needed a property for home and work, Sophie created a 4-bedroom house, a single-storey studio extension, renovated stable, and outdoor living areas with a shepherd’s hut. The result is an ingenious multi-purpose location with no compromise on style, which Sophie adores.
“I love that that house has so many elements, which makes it tick so many boxes. I love how light the house is, the panelling and stone fireplaces. I’m also really pleased with the studio and stable with the rustic flint walls. And outside, I’ve created a space that feels like another room with an outdoor fireplace, espalier apple trees and BBQ. I could spend days in the orchard with its shepherd’s hut and tranquil countryside vibe.”
Vine Cottage in Norfolk is situated in country surroundings, close to the coast and a stone’s throw from several dreamy countryside villages.
“We are so lucky to be close to gorgeous white sandy beaches but also have beautiful countryside and the lovely Burnham Market in the next village.”
As a result, the location affords ample seclusion and premium privacy – the ideal ingredients for perfect photoshoots.
The aesthetic of the interior at Vine Cottage is cool, calm, classy and chic; everything you’d expect from the owner of Sophie & Boo. Throughout the location, you’ll find a host of features to appeal to stylists. These include feature walls, cosy log burners and a freestanding bath. And because Sophie has designed three distinct areas, Vine Cottage is a hugely versatile photoshoot location.
“The textures in the property will appeal to clients, with the flint walls of the studio and panelling in the house. It also offers three different looks with the house, Studio, Stable and Shepherds hut.”
