Gaulden Manor is a beautiful historic manor house brimming with stunning period features and surrounded by rolling Somerset countryside. This year, this location hosted Graham & Green for their exciting 50th anniversary shoot, creating a wonderful set of images which perfectly encapsulates the eclectic collectors spirit of the brand.
Graham & Green are an independent lifestyle company that embody the idea of vibrant and joyful living. Their catalogue of quirky yet stylish pieces have been travelling from across the globe since 1974, curated by the skilled eyes of the Graham family to add lively flair and individualism to all whose home is where the heart is.
Now celebrating 50 years of success, the brand has a number of delights queued up for the month, including transforming their original Notting Hill store into an “Indian Bazaar” overflowing with vintage one-off furniture, textiles and homewares for interior treasure hunters to discover. In addition to their lively events and discounts, Graham & Green have released a stunning new collection of imagery showcasing their signature bohemian style at one of our gorgeous country locations.
It was right at the start of January when the Graham & Green team came to shoot at Gaulden Manor, our first shoot of the year. The shots were taken by talented photographer Mel Yates, and even though the weather was grey and rainy for both shoot days, the images exude personality and warmth. Pops of colour and character punctuate each scene, carefully crafted by stylist Ali Allen who also owns Stroud House – another charming country home on the Light Locations roster.
Set against Gaulden Manor’s wonderful array of textures and tones, Graham & Green’s unique products come to life. The earthy neutrals of the large living room provides the perfect spot for colourfully upholstered armchairs to shine, whilst the wallpapered spaces help reflect the playful tones so often found in Graham & Green’s designs.
Gaulden Manor is an ideal location choice for a brand delighting in variety and celebrating eccentricity. The location is home to almost every colour, from the dusty pink kitchen to the dazzling bedroom wallpaper. Seamlessly blending traditional period features with fun contemporary styling, this property feels like a true collectors home.
Beyond its walls, the grounds feature gloriously textured barns and courtyards surrounded by thriving flowers and topiary. Stone walls covered in climbing greenery provide even more photogenic spots in the warmer months, with Graham & Green’s shot of their beautifully printed textiles evoking dreams of sunny days spent perusing bustling markets in far off lands.
