London is home to many of our clients. Art Directors, Photographers and Film Location Managers. Creative Agencies, Stylists and Production Managers. All are drawn to live and work in the heartbeat of the British creative world. Proximity to these London based clients is a primary factor in the lure of a London Location, making our capital city the epicentre of photoshoot properties.
London features an alluring and fascinating selection of Light Locations. Some are fabulous lifestyle properties oozing with sublime and sophisticated style, designed by creative owners. Others are secret and surprising places hidden away in the corners of our historic capital. We’ve picked out five of our favourite Light Locations that epitomise the lure of a London Location.
This exquisite house in Kensal Rise in North West London is superbly stylish and full of unusual detail. Bespoke features including Crittall windows, concrete floors and eye-catching wall materials provide desirable backdrops that clients adore.
Being located in a prime location provides an undeniable appeal to Mount Pleasant Road. Especially when combined with internal proportions rare in a London postcode. Its spacious, open-plan rooms attract a wide variety of creative clients.
2020 was a year as busy as any for Mount Pleasant Road with clients including Loaf, Heal’s and Prestigious Textiles. With a full and bustling start to the shoot calendar, Mount Pleasant took our hot property spot in March. The owners prudently used the lockdown hiatus to treat the main bedroom to a gentle makeover, adding variety and appeal to a room full of sophistication. As the year progressed and the industry opened up again, Mount Pleasant became one of our most popular locations of 2020.
Another hugely popular London photoshoot location, New Cross also experienced a busy and successful 2020 schedule. This double fronted Victorian house rose elegantly from the spring lockdown to claim its place as one of our August hot properties.
Located in the hub of South East London, its proximity offers an undeniable appeal to many of our London based clients. With driveway parking for four vehicles and New Cross Gate station five minutes away, it’s the London location dream. But it’s the versatility of this beautiful property that lends itself to a dazzling array of creative briefs and photographers wish lists.
Set over three floors, New Cross has six large shoot spaces. Each space is empty and exudes lustrous natural lighting. With props available on request and the option to paint and decorate, it is arguably our most versatile London location.
Tavistock Works is one of those surprising and unexpected locations. Stowed away behind a North London mews façade, this converted warehouse offers two very different shoot options.
Upstairs the neutral and open plan studio is the ultimate blank canvas, with mere hints of its old London past. An exposed apex ceiling has been modernised, and the beautiful blue shutters add a touch of continental chic. The downstairs space is full of originality, providing a seductive lifestyle space. With exposed beams, painted floorboards and flagstone floors, there is a strong sense of character for clients to utilise.
The glorious open plan kitchen, dining and living space is the star attraction at this gorgeous Victorian House. Its location in the hugely popular Hackney area of London also ensures a constant stream of attentive clients. As with many of our Light Locations, the owners are delightful, adding to Englefield Road’s appeal as a favourite with our team and clients alike.
Another exceptional kitchen space can be found, this time in West London, at Carlton Road. The kitchen and dining space offers versatility, is generous with space and showcases gorgeous Crittall windows that always attract interest. A lifestyle space designed with photography in mind, all the team adore this location.
London locations will continue to lure local clients, keen to minimise travel and maximise shoot time. But don’t be fooled into believing the attraction is all about location. These properties all illustrate that the lure of a London location isn’t only about where it is situated.
