Once again the weeks have whirled past and we find ourselves in December’s festive glow, anticipating the season’s delights as the days continue to darken and freckle with frost. It’s been another busy year with too many gorgeous shoots to count, with each and every one of our locations doing us proud.
As always, a handful of our venues have sparkled just that little bit more than the rest. They are the homes that have become constant hives of shoot activity throughout the seasons, offering their effortless style to eager crews time and again. Without further ado, let’s dive into 2024’s top locations.
A new location that joined us at the very end of 2023, Upton House has quickly skyrocketed in popularity this year into the most in demand location! This stunning Grade II listed country house is nestled in a village between Bristol and Bath, making it incredibly easy for clients to access as well as being close to the Light Locations office.
The house is truly stunning, with plenty of spacious rooms filled with daylight from the unique bay windows. The soft colour palette of the walls and floors make the space incredibly versatile, whilst the thoughtfully preserved period features help create a sense of scale and detail. The modern dining extension offers a more contemporary style with its Crittall windows and skylight whilst stylish pops of colour and touches of mid-century inspired furniture keep each room looking beautifully balanced and inviting.
The icing on the cake is the exterior of the property, which boasts a glamorous pool area as well as character-filled courtyards and gardens. Pair this with ample parking for larger crews and a very welcoming owner and it’s clear to see why Upton House has flourished into such success. With so many gorgeous areas to choose from, it’s a location which embodies the meaning of versatility, delivering outstanding scenes at every turn whilst being a logistical dream. We can’t wait to see how it continues to blossom in 2025!

Our number one location last year, The Gatehouse has continued to be relentlessly in demand! This property is unlike any other, enchanting visitors immediately with its unique look.
The space is serene and vast, all open plan rooms with poured concrete floors and soft-hued plastered walls. Not only does this make a shoot day straightforward for crew and large product, but also creates the most perfect blank canvas for clients to inject their creativity upon. The striking steel windows pour gorgeous light into the house, with sweeping structural arches just waiting to frame a scene.
Throughout the rest of the property lies original beams, herringbone floors, painted brick surfaces and a lovely marbled kitchen space with a dramatic skylight. This location offers magical light, extensive manoeuvring space and distinctive style in abundance and it seems that will remain in our clients hearts for years to come.

This incredible location is always in the yearly Top 5, consistently delivering successful and rewarding shoot days thanks to the brilliantly professional location owner and her team who are super lovely to work with.
Located in London, this Victorian terraced house features tall ceilings, an intricate spiralling staircase and dreamy windows adorned with intricate period details. Every inch of the space is bathed in neutrals and chic details, from the sanded-back woods to the carefully curated furnishings. The feel is fresh and modern, which blends perfectly with the extraordinary kitchen extension at the back of the property, lit with a striking skylight and picture windows onto the gardens outside.
Without doubt, Clay House is an exceptionally beautiful home. Its power lies in that seamless blend of past and present, making it a timeless backdrop for shoots of all kinds.

Anders House has been in the Top 5 since 2020, making it another wonderfully popular location. This year, Anders House had a complete refresh of photography to show its newly completed garden area and bring its location page up to date which has no doubt inspired a few more visitors.
The property is owned by a professional photographer and his wife who have extensive experience in the industry which means they know how to run a successful shoot location. Time and time again, clients enjoy the smooth efficiency of shoots here.
Furthermore, Anders House is so very beautiful – panelled walls and parquet floors aplenty, all lit by daylight pouring in from the Crittall windows. Throughout the many rooms of this London home lies many stunning features; marble fireplaces, deep painted panelling and a dreamy kitchen with pantry. All in all, another stunning home that looks marvellous in camera and out.

Another regular of the Top 5 list, this property also enjoyed a photography update which helped renew fresh interest in its dramatic interiors. Most striking of all is the dining room with blue-toned distressed walls, a perfect textured backdrop for so many shoots!
The rest of this Georgian house is equally as lovely, with grand period archways and windows around every corner. The curved stone stairway is another eye-catching feature, gliding upwards to white panelled walls and lovingly restored wooden floors.
The house is roomy and sprawling, making it perfect for large-scale shoots. Eagle House was in fact home to the production team for Next for two weeks this year and easily housed their crew including large marquees, portaloos, food trucks, product and equipment! With such space and elegance, it’s no wonder this location continues to delight and charm each year.
