The Top 5 Photoshoot Locations of 2022

Sophie Hitchens Thursday 22nd December 2022

The nights have drawn in, the winter dog walks are bracingly fresh, and the Christmas break is temptingly close. With the end of the year looming, it’s time to announce the top 5 photoshoot locations of 2022.

It’s been a busy year for many of our gorgeous locations, and we’d love to mention them all. From new properties to old favourites, each offers its own blend of magic. But five locations have stood an inch above the rest, with diaries packed throughout the year.

So, we won’t keep you in suspense any longer. Here are the most popular shoot locations for 2022.

No 5: ANDERS HOUSE

This handsome Victorian house has been exclusive with us for a couple of years and in demand since day one. In our top 5 photoshoot locations for three years in a row, everybody wants to shoot at this location.

Its spacious open-plan kitchen and living space is the highlight for many clients. With stunning Crittal windows, elegant parquet floor and simply sublime wall panelling, it’s the perfect setting for many beautiful photoshoots.

The owners of Anders House renovated, designed and styled this magnificent location with shoots in mind. As a result, they packed it with features that attract a broad and diverse range of clients. So it’s no surprise that 2022 has seen a diary bursting with interior and fashion brands, including Harrods, Dunelm, Next and Marks and Spencer. And with 2023 set to include updated images to show the newly landscaped garden and gorgeous utility room, there is plenty to look forward to for this immensely appealing location.

No 4: THE ELMS

Everyone loves the Elms! A sustainably built, breath-taking timber-clad grand design near the south coast, it’s simply gorgeous. Another new location this year, it’s regularly sought after and has been a winning location for brands including YOU magazine, Romo, Plumo and The White Company.

Utterly modern, flooded with natural light and with stunning views across its beautifully landscaped plot, clients are mesmerised by this beautiful location. Externally, our favourite feature is the natural swimming pool, surrounded by a glorious modern garden design. And internally, the curved concrete staircase which takes you to two hanging balconies is simply divine.

Discover more about The Elms’ grand design story; a design adventure riddled with hurdles but a fairytale ending.

No 3: CHURCH ROAD

This impossibly stylish vicarage is another property exclusive to Light Locations. As with Anders House, it’s been with us since 2020 and is enjoying its third year in our top 5 shoot spaces. A favourite since the day we took it on, the success of Church Road lies in its beauty and versatility. Generously proportioned rooms with wonderful spaces in-between are all available to paint and decorate. And externally, its open spaces, privacy and ample parking make it universally appealing and flexible in every possible way.

Gorgeously decorated, the owners at Church Road designed the interior to perform perfectly as a blank canvas, which always appeals to interior brands. As a result, 2022 has seen Next, The White Company, Soho Home and Vanessa Arbuthnott making use of everything this location offers.

No 2: BENNETT STREET

Let’s congratulate Bennett Street, which has not only made it to the five but has been our location of the month three times. An impressive feat, as it only joined us this summer.

But we aren’t surprised at its success because this 5-storey Georgian House in the centre of Bath is exquisite. Packed with period features, including impressively sized rooms, beautiful fireplaces and large sash windows, clients have flocked to use what it offers. Brands that have embraced the versatility and style at Bennett Street include Liberty London, Loaf, Villa Nova, Little Greene and Sanderson.

As with all of our popular locations, Bennett Street has flexible, friendly and helpful owners, which is a must in our industry. Nick, Catherine and Herbie, the fox terrier, always go out of their way to make clients feel at home.

No 1: CLAY HOUSE

Joining us in early February, this property masterpiece is distinct, stylish and utterly gorgeous. Popular with interiors and fashion clients, 2022 has seen it rocket to first place with a jam-packed shoot schedule from the likes of Loaf, John Lewis, Mint Velvet and Marks and Spencer.

Whilst Clay House is both a new home and a new Light Location, its owner is an old friend. Louisa Grey has worked with us for many years, having previously owned the incredibly popular Wray Crescent. As a multi-talented stylist and gifted interior designer, Louisa has her finger on the pulse of current designs and knows exactly what people are looking for. As a result, her choice of soft tones throughout Clay House is bang on trend and immensely popular.

Clay House offers lovely spacious period rooms, several elegant, curved staircases and a stunning modern kitchen. But it’s the overall approach to design that transforms this location. Created holistically to flow seamlessly and focus on structures and interiors that make people healthier and happier, it’s a striking construct that makes you want to stop and breathe. The result is a shoot space that exudes escapism, shoots beautifully and transports you far beyond the confines of a London location.

Delve deeper into the history and striking re-design of Clay House.

Goodbye 2022, Hello 2023!

2022 has been a fantastic year for all these shoot spaces, with each property rightfully earning a place in the top 5 photoshoot locations. With 2023 diary bookings already in the bag, we can’t wait to see what the next twelve months hold for this incredible selection of Light Locations.
