Top 5 Striking Locations for Statement Brands

Tabitha Paradise Tuesday 23rd July 2024

Although tasteful neturals and classic finishes can be hard to beat, the vivacious burst of summer can leave us dreaming of a more exotic palette. Enter our statement locations, the quirky properties that deliver show-stopping scenes and allow the imagination to run a little freer than their calming counterparts. Think bold colour schemes, striking installations and a menagerie of other sights to surely make shots that stand out from the crowd.

Dunford House

Located near Midhurst, Dunford House is a Victorian country house that’s brimming with colour. The large living spaces are abundant in ornate period features contrasted with textured lime and peach sherbet-sweet pastel walls. The carnival of character continues, quite literally, with a playful addition of a merry-go-round horse statue and a Waltzer carriage serving as a window seat.

Joining the two rooms is a large entrance hall with its own surprise; a beautiful hanging installation of coloured foliage which drapes down from above. Further in, a striking orangery can be found, with light pouring in from every direction. It’s another space which looks great in-camera, and remains versatile whilst offering a visual punch.

Spring Cottage

From the outside Spring Cottage may look like a simply lovely Cotswold stone cottage, but once inside it’s true charm is revealed. The interior is a step into a sepia-toned world of warmth, dressed in every corner with a menagerie of props carefully curated by the owner. Soft fabrics and textured neutrals are everywhere, but step outside and the freshness of the country garden takes over. The traditional greenhouse is particularly special, traditional in style but covered with leafy plants and pale pink blooms.

The Shed WD23

At the bottom of Nightingale Road’s garden lies a beautifully decorated studio adorned in a gorgeous palette of warm tones. Small but mighty in its appeal, every surface of The Shed is home to a selection of vintage pieces and unusual props, including mannequin heads and bowler hats. It’s an eclectic space which still feels welcoming and homely, with plenty of natural materials and houseplants to ground its unique style.

The Paradise W10

The Paradise is a pub in Kensal Green in London with an extraordinary look. A stylish blend of shabby-chic and Georgian inspired interiors come together to create this unusual space, from its tall windows to its moody library rooms. The property has multiple bar areas which each look different from one another, all connected by creative collections of props and furnishings. A particular highlight is the hallway, which holds dramatic chandeliers hanging in a sea of tumbling ivy.

Upper Clapton Road E5

Plant lovers need look no further than this stunning botanical space located in the Tram Depot in Clapton. This sprawling studio space boasts 2000 square feet of double height, white open space as well as a handy cove. Amongst the greenery of Upper Clapton Road is an open plan living and kitchen area, complete with log burner and almost camouflaged green velvet sofas. Naturally, the space is bathed in light, from the mezzanine to the courtyard, creating a completely unique space that is still incredibly practical and versatile on a shoot day.

The most striking observation of all of these properties is their tasteful execution, how creative vision and careful design have come together to make spaces that are not only visually spectacular but also thoughtfully put together. From fun fair souvenirs to foliage forests, inspiration lies in every corner just waiting to be discovered.
