Location Spotlight: The Flower Factory

Tabitha Paradise Wednesday 18th June 2025

Set against the cultural backdrop of London’s East End, The Flower Factory is a quirky location perfectly set up for shooting and styling. Its pared back style and muted colour palette makes for a relaxing hideaway in the city, a calm and creative hub tucked away amidst cobbled streets and crowded skylines.

Becoming the Flower Factory

This creative lifestyle studio space is located in Bethnal Green, set amongst a row of Victorian shops that date back to the 1860’s. It was part of the well-known Sunday Columbia Road Flower Market, where Covent Garden traders would sell their leftover wares. The Flower Factory itself began life as a wood tuning business, and industrial elements of this past still remain in its gorgeous triple-aspect windows.

The location is owned by Kristin Perers, a photographer and stylist who left the New York fashion industry for British interiors work. Before buying The Flower Factory, Kristin had a painting studio in the building, which used to be filled with a variety of talentedartists and eclectic shops. Years later, she would see a for sale sign and immediately snap the property up.

Shaping a Studio

Kristin spent the next six months renovating The Flower Factory into a suitable home for her and her family. The property was initially an empty shell, needing heating and plumbing as well as a complete redesign. Now, it’s a warm and welcoming space that doubles as a gorgeous shooting location.

Each room is filled with stunning natural light. This relatively compact property boasts 23 windows in total across the two floors, with sweeping views of London stretching out on all sides. The open plan layout makes it ideal for shoot days, with moveable furniture to give clients as much flexibility as possible. Kristin really has thought of everything, even offering backdrops and blackout blinds on request.

A Light Lifestyle Space

Inside The Flower Factory, its tasteful style helps it appeal to a variety of production teams. Soft pastel tones create a relaxed and bohemian feel, which is added to with woven accessories and light flowing fabric. It’s a look that is ever evolving and remains on trend in 2025.

The interior also feels fresh and modern, with clean lines and subtle nods to texture in the panelled walls and wooden floor. It’s easy to imagine a plethora of brands shooting here, from product to fashion, enjoying the blank canvas of a considered space with lovely architectural features.

The Flower Factory has been used by notable brands such as Piglet in Bed. The images from their shoot are relaxed and airy, with casually styled beds heaped with layers of tactile, rippling fabric. There’s an almost scandi feel, with furniture made from natural materials and seasonal touches of foliage.

Without a doubt this property feels like a hidden gem, with Kristin’s experience helping to shape it into a truly versatile shoot location. Tucked away in London’s East End, TheFlower Factory quietly awaits it’s next moment in the spotlight, ready for the touch of stylists and photographers of all kinds.
