Gillian Stevens founded her brand in 2011, switching her creative focus from years of photography to the intimate medium of clothing design.Experimenting with tones, shapes and the flow of fabric, Gillian found clothing to be incredibly expressive and a more tactile way to tell a story.
All of Gillian’s collections are heavily influenced by vintage design, favouring delicate details and premium materials to create heirloom quality pieces with a timeless feel. She designs for real women, drawing inspiration from role models in her own life; mothers, sisters, friends. She believes that clothing should bring comfort andconfidence to every day, helping women feel free and at ease as they journey through their own unique worlds. Hoping to set the best example for her children, Gillian has always maintained a steady focus on responsible production processes and sustainable materials, resulting in long-lasting pieces to be cherished for years to come.
Spring Cottage is a quintessentially English Cotswold stone cottage located not far from Stroud. It’s full of charm and character, each room filled to brim with props that stylists and photographers are free to use on shoot. Its textured walls are swathed in warm tones, creating a plethora of backgrounds that feel connected yet individual, perfect for shooting multiple items of clothing from one collection.
This home simply feels like stepping into the past, a theme that runs through Gillian’s entire body of work as well as this seasonal piece. Spring Cottage is equally as beautiful outside as it is in, with grounds containing quirky outbuildings, a pretty greenhouse and a field of swaying wildflowers. Gilian’s outdoor scenes give a subtle nod to the natural materials used to create the pieces, and grounds the collection in the English countryside where warmth and comfort are of utmost importance.From its panelled windows to its stone floors, every inch of Spring Cottage is filled with gorgeous details that enrich Gillian’s imagery with warmth and honesty.
