On Location with Garden Trading

Written by Tabitha Paradise Tuesday 08th July 2025

As a flourish of sunshine marks the halfway point of the year, it’s an ideal time to reflect on the busy months that have passed already. So far, one particular client has stood out this year: Garden Trading. From Wiltshire to East Sussex, their recent shoots have brought considered pieces and modern rustic style to a variety of our prime locations.

The interior of Ham House located in Wiltshire

Bringing Nature Inside

Taking inspiration from the British countryside and city lifestyle trends, Garden Trading’s pieces are awash with natural tones and materials. The beautiful Ham House provides the perfect backdrop to let these pieces sing, with its muted palette of textured beams and crisp white walls complementing hardwood frames and woven details. Hints of fresh foliage bring nature even further inside, sprinkled with a sunny golden glow reminiscent of warm summer days.

The property retains a careful selection of period features within a chic contemporary home, its black framed picture windows and poured concrete floors creating an uncluttered space that’s filled with light and calm. It’s almost made for Garden Trading; a brand that prides itself on practical, no-fuss homeware that feels rooted in English heritage.

Forest House located in East Sussex

The Great Outdoors

Surrounded by swaying trees, the aptly named Forest House is another country home with endless shooting potential. Its large open plan kitchen, dining and living area makes it easy to photograph large set ups whilst its classic panelled interior feels timeless in any frame. It becomes a warm and welcoming dining scene for Garden Trading, with the woodwork of a trestle table echoed in the natural timber window frames whilst foliage flutters outside.

Garden Trading began life as a curated selection of outdoor furniture, which will always live at the heart of the brand. It’s no surprise then that their creative team would look for locations with beautiful spaces outside as well as in, and Forest House is no exception. A side terrace provides a lovely spot for a sunkissed bistro scene, with the ivory latticed chairs contrasting perfectly with Forest House’s black cladded walls. Further afield, Forest House’s boardwalk-style decking and access to an extensive woodland make it an explorer’s haven, setting a stage that readily awaits garden furniture and products alike.

Relaxed, Layered Living

Located between Bath and Bristol, Upton House is a grade II listed property that boasts dramatic stone windows and a subtle sense of scale. It’s yet another example of old and new working in a clever harmony, with carefully selected splashes of colour accenting its open plan rooms.

Once again, Garden Trading’s timeless designs sit comfortably within these walls. The tranquil blue of the upstairs bedroom is evocative of spring skies, and works beautifully as the canvas behind Garden Trading’s palette of greens, blues and browns. There’s a feeling of simplicity here, a back-to-basics way of living that still feels high end in an understated way. The relaxed yet considered styling helps set a sense of home; a place that can be both functional and stylish.

Shooting in the Country

In 2023, Garden Trading relocated from the rolling hills of Oxfordshire to the nearby Wiltshire. Their appreciation for the local landscape is reflected in many of their product names and designs, firmly rooting them in the South of Britain. It seems only fitting that they would shoot in locations not too far away, choosing country homes with ample space and natural surroundings.

With the second half of the year still to come, we look forward to seeing what Garden Trading produces next. As with all our clients, it’s a delight to see each location reimagined; with new stories and souls imbued by creative hands.
